The Walrus sets a new world record (unofficial)

The Walrus, of KGHP radio has set the unofficial world record for longest continuous radio broadcast. Taking only short cat-naps, The Walrus stayed on the radio for more than 200 hours. The record breaking stunt was part of an effort to save the radio station, which is part of Peninsula High School and is threatened by looming budget cuts.

The record will be official once Guinness has verified it.
